Q: What stage and sector companies does CoAct invest in?

Accepted Answer

CoAct Capital is an early stage venture capital fund.

We're sector agnostic, preferring to focus on supporting Founders and Companies at or around Series A stage.

We invest in Australian companies, with strong and visionary Founders, who are solving meaning problems, with a large addressable market.

Ideally you'll have favourable tail winds (why now?), an innovative solution, technology or business model that gives you an advantage, have demonstrated product-market fit (eg. customers, revenue and partnerships) and have the ability to scale.
  
We'd like to help with growth and scale from here.  Our team has flexibility around this criteria, including slightly earlier or later stage companies, and across a range of valuation levels.

Our preferred cheque size ideally is in the zipcode of AUD$2m-$4m.

Q: How is CoAct helpful to Founders?

We're a focussed fund, with an experienced team, and a deep passion to support founders and be a valuable part of the Australian startup ecosystem.

CoAct's Partners, our Investment Committee, Network and Investors, are experienced in growing, founding, advising, chairing, listing and investing in startup and scale up ventures.

We're happy to lead deals, or follow; to take a board seat or not, and collaborate with other investors and co-investors (or help you find them).  If we can't invest, we aim to be helpful in other ways if we can.

We aim to be responsive, transparent and helpful to Australian founders, and collaborative across the Australian startup and venture capital ecosystem.

We're focussed on Series A stage companies because we're excited by, and experienced in, the journey  and challenges Founders often face at this stage.  Particular areas of focus at this stage, include raising capital, building teams and organisations, go to market, and technology choices (such as build, partner or buy and core capabilities to win).

If you're not currently raising, and fit with our focus, we'd be happy to chat, help if we can, build a relationship, and be part of the journey at some stage in the future.
